Below is an example detailing how to connect a Google Spreadsheet:
1. Ensure the date column is in the format YYYY-MM-DD.
2. Go to the "Connections" page.
3. Use the "Search a data source" bar to find and select "Google Spreadsheet."
4. A panel will appear on the right side. Choose "New connection."
5. Select "Google Spreadsheet."
6. Under "Configuration," opt for "Give write access" only if data needs to be pushed back into the spreadsheet (optional).
7. Click "Submit" at the bottom of the panel.
8. Proceed to "Sign in with Google."
9. Log in or select the relevant Google account.
10. Allow necessary permissions by clicking "Continue" in the bottom right.
11. Utilize drop-down menus to select the required spreadsheet and sheet.
12. Click "Submit" to initiate data propagation.
The data will begin propagating immediately.
Blending Non-Marketing Data - Step-by-Step Guide:
1. Access the "Dashboard" section from the left-hand menu.
2. Choose the appropriate dashboard view.
3. Navigate to or add a pivot table widget.
4. Click the "Settings" gear that appears when hovering over the widget.
5. You will notice the connected spreadsheet will show in the "Data sources" section, but still needs to be blended. Scroll down and select "Data source settings" at the bottom of the menu.
6. You will notice the spreadsheet will show in the menu at the top
Note: If you have multiple sources that need to be blended, you may need to use the drop down to choose the correct data source.
7. Next, you will map the Join keys.
For example, if "Channel" in Adriel is equivalent to "Channel" in your Google Spreadsheet, you will select " GSS: Channel", and the same for "Campaign."
Note: You'll see "This field is required," but you can leave it blank if the dimension is not needed.
8. Next, you will need to map your desired metrics.
On the left-hand side, you will choose the corresponding metric that will be shown through Adriel. On the right-hand side, you will choose the corresponding metric you are pulling from the external data source.
Pro-tip: We recommend mapping the same metrics from the "Join keys" or "Dimensions" section already mapped, such as "Channel", "Campaign," i.e, so that you can filter down by those dimensions within widgets.
9. Under "Configuration," map the "Date" field from the external source.
10. Select "Update"
11. You will then see in the "Edit data sources" panel within the widget settings that the external source has now been blended indicated by a blue tag.
Pro-tip: Anytime you connect a non-native connector, you will need to blend the data and this blue tag is a good visual cue to inform you what has been and what has not been blended.
12. Verify data in the pivot table.
