How to connect MongoDB to Adriel

Detailed instructions to help you set up the data source for MongoDB

Before data source connection, prior settings are needed on MongoDB UI. 

1. First of all, please log into the MongoDB platform
2. Click the [Network Access] tab on the left bar and add the IP address of Adriel. 

3. Enter "52.79.160.224" for the 'Access List Entry' input and click the 'Confirm' button. 

4. Click the [Database Access] tab on the left bar and edit the user settings. 
    
Hit the Edit button under the 'actions' column on the very right to access the below page. 
 

5. Edit the setting as below and click the "Add User" button at the very end. 

  • Set 'Authentication Method' as 'Password'.
  • The 'Password Authentication' key is up to your decision but please keep in mind that it will be required for sharing later on. (Here in this guide, step 7)
  • Set the 'Built-in Role' as 'Atlas admin'.


Access the Adriel dashboard to connect your data source.

Type "MongoDB" into the search.


7. Enter the URL and Password for the database you want to connect. 

  • How to find the database URL on the MongoDB UI
    : Move to the [Database] tab on the left and click the "Connect" button


    Then, move to the Compass tab


    Copy the URL under number 2 on this page. 

  • How to find the password on the MongoDB UI
    : Use the password used in Step 5 of this guide. 


8. Select one database and collection(s) for connection. 
     Only one database (multiple connections) is allowed per connection. 
     If you want more than two, repeat the Steps 6 to 9. 

9. Finally, click the "Submit" button below to complete the data connection and you are done!
