Lastly modified on: Tue, 29th Jul, 2025 at 01:31 PM
Prerequisites
- AppsFlyer account
- Set up “Cohort Analytics via Data Locker” feature on the AppsFlyer platform UI
- You must have an Advanced or Enterprise AppsFlyer plan to access Data Locker.
** Note that Adriel provides two different AppsFlyer integrations.
(1) "AppsFlyer" connector uses Master API, which is a REST API that provides on-demand access to campaign performance and user activity data.
(2) On the other hand, "AppsFlyer Cohort" uses a Data Locker feature, which is AppsFlyer’s cloud-based raw data delivery solution, which sends structured raw files to your cloud storage (AWS S3) on a scheduled basis.
Instructions
Step 1: Enable Data Locker on AppsFlyer UI
1. Log into AppsFlyer
-
Select the app you want to enable Data Locker for.
2. Navigate to Data Locker
-
In the left-side menu, go to:
Export → Data Locker
3. Choose Your Cloud Storage Destination
You’ll be asked to select where you want AppsFlyer to deliver the files:
-
Amazon S3
4. Configure Your Storage Details
(AppsFlyer Guide) Before setting the AWS connection, create an AWS bucket. To learn, how see here.
To set the connection:
- Enter your AWS S3 bucket name.
af-
prefix is mandatory, and should be entered manually. - Click Test connection.
- Verify that an error message indicating that the bucket path is invalid isn't displayed.
- Select whether to Make this connection compatible with Adobe Experience Platform. If selected, click Save and continue to select global-level filters.
- Click Save. The Report output settings section is displayed.
5. Configure Your Report Output Settings
- File format should be CSV
- File compression should be GZIP
- Recommended max row count is 100K
- For the Expected path, we recommended leaving the default one. What’s important is that the “Versioned” format for the date folder should be left as dt=yyyy-mm-dd. If the format of this date folder is different, it won’t work
6. Select Reports for All Your Account Apps
-
We recommend using the cohort-unified-agency report.
-
This one is combining the 2 other ones, so it’s easier to have both reports for one datasource only.
-
7. Save
-
After confirming your settings, click “Save.”
-
You should start receiving files within 24 hours.
Step 2: Connecting AppsFlyer Cohort to Adiriel
- Move to Adriel's Connections page.
-
Type "AppsFlyer Cohort" into the search bar.
- Fill in the 5 required fields accordingly to the account that you want to connect to Adriel.
Please refer to the S3 connection documentation https://academy.adriel.com/en/how-to-connect-amazon-s3-to-adriel
